Description: A great event with a small organising committee that is run just north of the Victorian border. Excellent dressage and show jumping facilities are complemented by solid, inviting and well made cross country courses where they make the effort to soften the going with scarifying if there has been no rain. Not the sort of place to upgrade but a great preparation for horses wanting to go onto Melbourne Three Day Event. Albury is easy to get to, being just off the freeway, has wonderful facilities and the famous bareback high jumping competition with excellent catering. |

Facilities: Covered yards are available, if a little bit hard to get. The open yards are OK but some lack shade. Camping and the erection of your own solid yards is all allowed with a choice of the intimacy of the fenced area (too many generators running all hours) or spots along the fence. Great toilet and shower facilities, a Saturday night meal and entertainment including bareback high jumping and a kiosk all weekend. |

Tips: Most people stay at the venue for a meal on Saturday night and watch the bare back jumping. Victorians may find the procedure at the end of the cross country (no compulsory vet check although there is a vet present) unusual. |

Courses: The dressage warm up is large with a relaxed atmosphere. The only difficulty for those on the sand is that you are only let onto this area when there are two horses to go. The show jumping warm up is on the sand with plenty of room. The cross country warm up area is large with a number of cross country fences to practice over. |

Warm up areas: Preliminary: Pre-Novice: One Star: Always testing and constantly upgraded and changed, the one star track usually has it's share of arrowheads, apexes and angled fences. A large bank complex as well as many encouraging and solid fences. Two Star: Banks, a tough water complex and plenty of accuracy tests. Three Star: A testing track with a few feature fences such as the bank complex, water complex and some very narrow arrowheads. |
